Dony

Meet Dony, the strong and masculine figure of our shelter. During the day, he and his brother Sam don’t always get along. If Dony is outside, Sam stays inside, and vice versa. 

However, despite their daytime rivalry, they sleep together every night, showing their unique bond.

How We Found Dony

On a dark, quiet night in December 2017, around 3 AM, we were woken by the sound of puppies barking. Concerned, we investigated and found four tiny puppies near a tube well, shivering in the cold and soaked in drainage water.

 One of them was Dony, just two weeks old. As Dony grew, we hoped to find him a loving home once he was a month old. 

Unfortunately, he contracted Parvo, delaying his adoption. At two months old, Dony was healthy again, but finding him a home was still difficult. Many people wanted small, cute puppies, ignoring those who really needed a home.

Time went by, and Dony’s chances of being adopted grew slim. Most adopters wanted tiny pets or guard dogs, not family members. We couldn’t bear the thought of Dony being confined to small cages, which would be worse than living on the streets. 

Despite our efforts, Dony was never adopted. Instead, he became a cherished part of our family. Today, he is pampered by everyone and still thinks of himself as a baby, bringing joy to our days.
