Meet Tiku, a sweet yet territorial dog who loves having her own place and bed. She is protective of her belongings and her favorite person, and she can get jealous if her favorite person shows affection to other dogs.

How We Found Tiku

Tiku was rescued from the Bhadrakali area where locals, frustrated by the growing dog population, planned to kill newborn puppies. We put all the puppies up for adoption.

While all the male puppies found homes, three females were not adopted. We kept them at our shelter, and two eventually found loving homes.

Tiku also found a home, but her adopter returned her after three days, claiming she wasn’t eating. She was brought back in a shopping bag hung from a bicycle handle, clearly showing the adopter’s lack of compassion.

This traumatic experience left Tiku unsocial with humans, and she still struggles to build connections.
